Why Scraps of Grace you ask??? Primarily because it is through God's grace that I am able to do what I love...scrapbooking, cardmaking, basically anything that has beautiful paper and embellishments involved. This is also a place to share my work as well as whatever is on my heart. A creative outlet for the mind, body, and soul.

I encourage you to relax, read, and browse a while and I hope that your day will be brightened and blessed by what you encounter.

A Little Birdie...

More from the Tablescapes ladies' luncheon at my church.  The children's ministry group that I am a part of hosted two tables - a Paris theme and a birdhouse theme.  I'll post more photos from the Paris theme table this week but I wanted to share one of the take home items I made for the ladies at the birdhouse table.

Supplies used: Cardstock - Neenah Solar White; Ink - Colorbox (Chestnut Roan) and Versafine (Onyx Black); Patterned paper - Basic Grey, Echo Park Paper Co., Little Yellow Bicycle and My Mind's Eye; Pens - Copic (E53 Raw Silk); Stamps - Colorbok (branch) and Basic Grey (bird)
The Bible verse is Matthew 6: 25-26 from the NIV translation.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about
your life, what you will eat or drink;
or about your body, what you will wear.
Is not life more than food, and the body
more than clothes?
26 Look at the birds of the air; they do
not sow or reap or store away in barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much more valuable than they?”
I printed the verse on my laser printer then inked the edges with the Chestnut Roan chalk ink.  I stamped the tree branch with the same ink then attached each to patterned paper.  The little birds were stamped with Versafine onto Neenah cardstock and patterned paper.  I colored the body of the birds with my Copic marker and then paper pieced the bottom part of the bird.  The birds were placed on the cards with dimensional adhesive.  The colors I chose matched the mini birdhouses that were at each place setting at the table.
