Why Scraps of Grace you ask??? Primarily because it is through God's grace that I am able to do what I love...scrapbooking, cardmaking, basically anything that has beautiful paper and embellishments involved. This is also a place to share my work as well as whatever is on my heart. A creative outlet for the mind, body, and soul.

I encourage you to relax, read, and browse a while and I hope that your day will be brightened and blessed by what you encounter.

Making Memories Guest Designer...

A while back Making Memories was seeking guest designers for their blog...I jumped at the chance.  Well, today is the big day and here I am featured on their blog.  I had free reign to design whatever I wanted as long as I used Making Memories products.  Naturally I turned to Christmas decorations since I LOVE Christmas and basically take down all the "regular" decor in my house and replace it with Christmas themed stuff - am I the only one who does this because my husband thinks I'm nuts???  So hop on over to the Making Memories blog and check out what I created...I can't wait to hang it in my house and I've already made a second one that I gave to a good friend as a gift.  They're fun and easy to make and oh so cute to display!

Hi Catherine. I love your wreath. It is so creative. I was wondering if you could tell me the approximate diameter of the outer circle and the diameter of the inner circle. (Or width between the two). I wanted to try to make the wreath but wanted to get my circle as big as yours for my first try. Thanks!

One more question for you. (Sorry to bother you, I am new at this). LOL! What 3 widths of strips did you choose to use and how thick were your accordian folds? I really appreciate the help. I couldn't find an email for you. THANKS!

Thank you for all your comments here and at the MM Blog. I'm currently making a "fall/thankful" wreath using this sames concept and I'm loving it!

Crystal~ I used my Fiskars shape cutter and templates to make the base for the wreath. The outer diameter of the circle is 8.25" and the inner diameter is 6".

mmpm88~ I used 6 strips of 1 1/2" x 11" or 12" (some of the papers were 12 x 12 and some were 8 1/2 x 11 causing the difference in the length) - the accordian folds were at every 1/4".

I also used 7 strips of 1" x 11" or 12" with the accordian folds at every 1/4".

Finally I used 5 strips of 1/2" x 10" with accordian folds at every 1/8" - these were the toughest to do but they really make the wreath more balanced.
